Nobody at the time I was there, knew anything. I would ask a question and always would get the response, "Uhh, I don't know." Or, "Ask ashley about keeping laurens county clean" for example, but she never had time or would say she doesnt know if they are doing that anymore. I would show up for a meeting and they would say well nobody showed up so we're no doing it.
I guess I'm nobody.
A guest that would go up there all the time, unsure if he was on community service or not, and always help. Tracey would make fun of his speech and be degrading. I know I'm not the only one that was struggling in laurens county trying to ask for help and just not knowing how. Doesn't seem like a safe place for any and all addicts.

I made it out of that county alive and explored the recovery community elsewhere. Very glad I was taught how to work a program when I was in treatment and finding others that lisen to come to an understanding instead of being prestigious for an ego boost.

By leaving, I have found that recovery is real.

The staff at Rise Up are AMAZING !!! Someone at rhe community mental health center suggested I go there for peer support and it's a decision I'll NEVER regret. The people there are welcoming, understanding, and helpful in any way they can be. They helped guide me from a dark and lonely place during a bad time in my life, to accepting myself and finally being happy with who I am.
Life is precious, and no matter what you've been through, there's someone out there that has been through the same thing or something similar. The folks at Rise Up use that familiarity to try and help you help yourself.
