Very disappointed with Perfection Automotive. Perfection is a understatement. I first took my car in for a regular service and I read the reviews and was recommended to this place. Service was fine and then about a week later I took a sharp turn and that caused my check engine light to come on so I took it back for a second, third and then a FOURTH time. After the fourth time and $3,000 later I went and got a second opinion as Jim told me to. Come to find out my intake tube was cracked and they put electrical tape and aluminum foil around it to fix it. Also put aluminum foil over my intake tube. Bolts were also missing from under my hood. Then after the second opinion looked at the invoices from perfection auto I was informed one of the engine coils I paid for was not even done. Maybe he did change the coils but with old parts because the parts on my car are the original parts from the factory. I have called multiple times and Jim was very rude and refused to negotiate or refund me partial money.

Perfection Automotive was recommended by my father in law who takes his Lexus there for service. We have 7 cars in our "fleet" including 3 Toyotas, 1 Lexus. They specialize in those and also service other vehicles, most recently working on our Silverado. The place is small, you need to have a little patience for drop off and pick ups. Before moving to Hilton Head from Virginia in 2022, I had taken may vehicles to the same mechanic for nearly 30 years. Finding a new mechanic was something I was not looking forward to. I have taken vechicles to 5 different places on the island and I think I have found my mechanic for the next however many years I drive. Just got my Lexus back from a very labor-intensive AC repair at Perfection Automotive. The work was completed for 43% less than Lexus dealer quote. Next time my car needs repair, you know where I’ll be taking it.

Jim worked us in on a last minute request on a busy Xmas week to do car repairs on our Lexus RX 350(front/rear brakes and rotors, battery, and water pump). All of this work was quoted at twice the cost by the local Lexus dealership that we were ultimately charged by Perfection Auto . He’s always been fair, clear, and timely in doing great work on our car. Best mechanic shop by far that I’ve ever worked with in 60 yrs!

Disappointed with their service, it was highly recommended by a friend. We would take our car in for a routine oil change and they were too fast. We realized when both of our cars had issues that they don't do a full check with the oil change, they get the car in and out Ava avoid questions when we asked. We had one of our cars our engine explode right after an oil change. My car tire went flat right after an oil change because they didn't rotate the tires. We were loyal to them and I asked the car mechanic if he was open at 4 pm, the car mechanic told me to go to another dealership. We took our business to H&H auto on Marshland road and are very satisfied.

What are you always looking for?
Honest professionals that will explain everything in simple words and they will not overlook stuff.
Also, the charges to be fair, at least decent, right?

Well, you got it. They are knowledgeable and awesome at what they are doing !!!
We left Honda because we had trust issues with them. Overcharging for simple fixes and always adding future issues in our least.

We found these guys here and they are PROFESSIONALS yet friendly ! They fix what they need to fix and only tell you a problem they might see that we trust them if they say so it is indeed an issue.

They don't try to rip your pockets, they try to have a nice family company and they succeed on that.
