This rating is specifically about the corporate financial operations. Not the providers. These people deeply deserve a negative rating. The send statements, in my case dated December 9th, which don't arrive in the mail until December 17th. Strangely, this first bill already shows that we are in pre-collections. Where is my first bill? Or even my second bill if I am now beyond 60 days Based on what I'm seeing with your statement dates and arrival dates, I suspect you have some serious issues internally, and you don't seem to have any problem blaming the patients for your problems.

I can't pay you until I have a bill. Yes, I had the EOB and the money in my HSA to pay you - but still no bill - which is required. Then, I receive another bill dated January 9th, which arrived in the mail today on January 15th threatening collections. Wow. But you see, the day I received the bill on December 17th, I sent payment through my HSA to the address (confirmed several times) on the bill we received, yet those payments have not bee cleared yet. These are V-checks so they arrive quickly and can be processed quickly by IHC. So, IHC what is YOUR PROBLEM You send bills late then blame us, then we send payment - and almost a month later, you still have not processed our payments.

And then there is the issue of you billing more than the EOB has allowed. I don't believe that is allowable in Utah and likely is against your contracts. You want the money, I am happy to pay it, but I need an EOB for it. Which you have not provided.

Absolute worst company on the planet.

I’ve had nothing but problems with them over the last 1.5 years.

I went and saw my psychiatrist. She is wonderful. What she’s doing working at this hellhole I’ll never understand.

I went to my appointment. Paid $100.

Now I want to get reimbursed with my FSA provider. I forgot my FSA card. I need a receipt. Seems easy enough, right?

Nope. Apparently I made a massive mistake. The receipt in my account is just a $100 charge. That’s not enough for my FSA provider.

On cool, I’ll get an itemized receipt. So I call and they transfer me to billing. Billing wants me to leave a voicemail with 15 different pieces of information.

Bruh, I have mental health issues. I can’t even remember the names of my coworkers.

So I call back to talk to a person. This person tells me that it’s going to take 10 BUSINESS DAYS to get a RECEIPT for something I’ve ALREADY PAID FOR and a service I’ve ALREADY RECEIVED.

“Sorry, we don’t have the technology to get it done faster than that.”

Uhh… you MUST be joking? So you don’t know what you billed me for? Then why did I pay you money? It took you about 5 seconds to take the money from me 10 days ago, but you don’t have the technology to print a receipt for it? Hahaha. Oh ok.

Elon Musk sends rockets into space with a bunch of satellites and then lands the rocket safely back down to earth.

But IHC “doesn’t have the technology” to give me an itemized receipt for 10 business days AFTER I request it? And I have to request a receipt and then wait 2 weeks for it every single time I need one?

You have got to be freaking kidding me.

In 2021, A Marc Harrison made $7,230,577.

Maybe y’all should ask him to buy you the “technology” to create an itemized receipt.

Absolutely ridiculous.

I’m going to get a tattoo on my chest that says “DNR if service is provided by IHC” because I’d rather kms or die than deal this nonsense.

Intermountain is an exceptional organization with some of the best people I’ve ever known that work and serve there. My three children were born at Intermountain hospitals, and some of the most significant moments in my life have all been at an Intermountain facility. Without exception the people that cared for me were as kind and supportive as can be, their trusted expertise helped protect and champion me and my family, and I couldn’t say enough how grateful I am for Intermountain.

the least helpful healthcare company I've ever encountered. I got a bill for life flight because my insurance denied it for medical necessity. it's still being worked, as we speak. IHC said they'd put a hold on my account. no one informed me that hold was only for 30 days. every time I've called IHC for help, I get the same non-answers and no one knows who to send me to to help my situation. they don't care about their patients. they don't care about keeping them informed. they didn't inform me of anything, I didn't even know I was past due until I got a message when it was 90 days overdue. I'm being sent to collections over a bill my insurance is still working when my insurance has said IHC should never have sent me the bill in the first place. fix your infrastructure. people like me that needed your care to survive deserve better. I should be able to get the help I need from your people. this has been a failure every step of the way.

UPDATE: the reason my insurance had to keep working it is because IHC refused to send medical records after my insurance requested them multiple times (I have reference numbers of at least three requests). IHC never sent records. I had to send them myself in the form of a direct claim appeal. despicable.

Got a bill for 237 dollars for a phone appointment. Called the billing phone number and the said the insurance didn't pay anything, and it was likely submitted wrong. Did a medical coding review to have it resubmitted and didn't resolve it. So now I'm left to figure out how someone didn't do their job right or i get stuck with the bill.

WARNING: LITTLE TO NO SERVICE. I've never dealt with a billing agency who feels it's ok to ignore a problem, and pretend you haven't called at all. They have billed me for another patients visit/treatment - beginning 90 days ago. I've called and talk with a couple of "service reps" who swear they will get things straightened out and not to worry. WHAT A JOKE! No investigation, no changes, no calls. Just a repeat bill with not a darn thing done....and I have to start all over again, because no one obliviously knows or cares what is going on!!! The last billing I received a week ago via email, I wrote a message and sent it back via email, so the specifics were in black and white, thinking maybe it'll help. SILLY me, my message has "somehow" been deleted and nothing shows up for any kind of correspondence. So I have to wonder what is going on here that IHC seems to bill out various "services" that were NEVER done, to the wrong patient and demanding immediate payment. I'm darn sure I'm not the only one who is dealing with this problem!!! Just so you (the reader) knows, I don't write complaints on open forums - But IHC Billing has deserved this review due to their apparent operating procedures. But when my credit gets threatened - enough is enough! If anyone out there is in my situation, scream out with me and MAYBE someone will sit up and take notice about what ISN'T happening at IHC billing dept.

I haven't been here, but I helped apply for financial assistance for someone who was there. I help people from all over the country apply to numerous hospitals, and Intermountain's Financial Assistance process is one of the easiest I've ever worked with. You have the option of mailing, emailing, or submitting online the application. In my experience, communication was really good with the agents. They approved a huge write off for the patient who was out of state, which they don't normally do.

IHC made 2.2 billion in revenue last year. They are unable to provide patients with electronic medical releases via patient email and think outside the box to expidite patient care. Its not 1983 anymore.
