Where do I begin? Mrs. Hawkins & Ms. Lynne are simply amazing. The entire experience was top notch. I hired the team a few years ago as I went back and fourth regarding ending my marriage. The Hawkins Legal Group was always a phone call away. They kept me updated on the status on my case all the time. My case was very tedious, stressful, bitter, and hurtful to say the least; however they maintained their professionalism at all times. Mrs. Hawkins was extremely tough during court and stayed strong to get me an amazing settlement from my ex-husband. Mrs. Hawkins knows her stuff and does not come to court to play; she's sugar sweet, but in court she's no nonsense and fights for her clients. Melissa Hawkins was my attorney during a divorce that was extremely difficult and emotionally draining. She fought for me like a champion. I was always able to depend on her. She is professional, personable and made the hard but right decisions for myself and my children. When we had to attend court status conferences, she was always prepared and professional. I can't even bring myself to giving this firm 1 star. But I will give them the benefit of the doubt because she lets you know that she works within the confines of the court to the benefit of her firm. She may advocate, but you better make sure you are not in a difficult situation and that you have enough funds to support her efforts on your behalf. Melissa also loves her clients and says she works diligently for them. Her solicited positive reviews even say so. Make sure you have a clear plan of action including a potentially extended timeline (and cost) of her diligence, especially if it is not a cut and dry case. Make sure she clearly outlines her fees for every phone call, letter, and thought because $5,000 goes very quickly with or without restitution. Also, make sure you restrict any negative feedback about the service provided or question the plan of action. She only allows for "one comfort call" which should be more than enough to make up for any discontentment regarding the service she and her staff provide. I have no doubt the Hawkins Legal Group can be the answer for your legal concerns. Otherwise they would not be in business. However, I would not recommend her services. Her diligence, slow response, and outcome did not warrant the price tag. The same lack of results could have been achieved without her services.

Melissa is a Top-Rate Dad Defender!!! Being a father is one of the most important things in my life. When my ex filed filed for divorce out of the blue after 7 years of marriage, my biggest concern was being able to play the largest role possible in their lives, while preserving my financial ability to provide for their needs. Melissa guided me through the chaos, helped me separate emotions from facts and advised me where I should take a stand and where it might be better to yield. She was polite and cordial with the plaintiff when needed and absolute bulldog on the occasions it was warranted. Hire Melissa Hawkins immediately!! I can not say enough good things about Melissa and the guidance she gave me during my divorce.

Let me start by saying that I research every aspect of my life. So naturally for my divorce I did just that - I talked to family, friends and coworkers while researching representation online. I wanted to better understand the divorce process and pick an excellent lawyer. I scheduled 3 interviews with perspective lawyers - the first very well known attorney stood me up. The receptionist wasn't even present during my 45 minute wait. The second spent my consultation bad mouthing other lawyers. I settled on the third. Once I paid my retainer I swore my lawyer worked for my Ex-husband! He even got irate and yelled at me during a meeting because I wouldn't concede to my Ex-husband's demands and I dared question his advisement! Needless to say I was distraught. An already impossible time with 3 kids in tow being made that much worse. I fired him.

Fast forwarding to meeting Melissa. Words can't express the sense of relief I felt from my first consultation thru the conclusion of my divorce. She is warm, personable yet professional. Never did I feel uninformed about my case. She ensured that at all times I knew the exact status of my case. She and her staff communicate every update. I always felt welcome to call or email if a question arose. Responses were immediate and detailed. And rest assured, she is professionally aggressive in the best way! Once you communicate your desires and you both agree on a course of action she truly goes to work for you!
Another plus? You never have to wonder about how your retainer is being spent! She will clearly communicate how your retainer is being used. You will also receive monthly statements with detailed breakdowns.

Last but not least I didn't feel cut off once the divorce was final. Again she made it clear that I could always reach out to her not only for any future legal issues, but she expressed that I should reach out to her if there was even the slightest breach to the content of the decree.

She has a client for life in me.
