We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn across the street and ate here for breakfast on our first morning. Wonderful ladies working there and breakfast was a great value. We were full through lunchtime after eating their hearty bagel breakfast sandwiches. It's inside an office building, but there's a nice, bright space with tables there, and they look out into a green space. Big Shoulders Coffee is there too, so it was a perfect breakfast location, just hidden from tourists. It was a great way to start our day.

Halsted Street Deli & Bagel is a clutch spot for a quick, solid breakfast or lunch in the Loop. Stopped in before work and grabbed a bacon, egg & cheese on an everything bagel with a medium coffee—came out to about $9. The bagel was toasted just right, and they didn’t skimp on the bacon, which is always a plus. The coffee was hot and strong, exactly what I needed to start the day. Service was fast, even with the morning rush, and the staff was friendly. If you’re looking for a no-frills, reliable deli that gets the job done, this is it!

Halsted Street Deli is hands down one of the best spots in town for a fresh, delicious sandwich. The quality of their ingredients is always top-notch, and they craft each sandwich with care.

This little-but-mighty, mom-and-daughter ran AND OWNED Halsted Street are ran by the nicest aforementioned mom and daughter duo I’ve encountered so far in Chicago. They’ll go above and beyond to help you with your order and leave you satisfied in the end. And they couldn’t be nicer too. I used to work up by the Merchandize Mart and frequent the one there until they closed so safe-to-say that I’m glad I found a Deli to fill my soul’s need for cold cuts! Also, they have Monday - Thursday Specials if you’re on a budget

This is by far my favorite place to go to for lunch during the work week. It is quick, delicious, and the price is near impossible to beat. I always love talking to Mary and her mother. When people ask me for suggestions for a quick lunch, I always make sure to point them towards this deli.

Visiting Chicago from England, Searched for a true local Deli - The food and service exceeded my expectations, a huge variety of subs, bagels etc. In-fact… it was so good I came back a second time. The owner Mary, is a true gem, and a testament to the kindness of people in Chicago. An absolutely fantastic spot and I will forever be grateful for the kindness Mary showed me. Whenever Im in Chicago, this will be my first stop. Check this spot out you will not be disappointed!!!

Hands down one of the best panini’s I’ve had in a long time. I appreciate the attention to detail from the fresh ingredients to the perfectly toasted bread, everything was neatly put together. Highly recommend!

Best sandwiches in the city and the service is always excellent. I have recommended many people to this place and will continue to do so. The food never misses, and Mary is always so kind and sweet. A little family business with a whole lot of love in it. Everything is always fresh, clean, fast, made correctly, affordable, NOT skimpy, and delicious!
