I have NEVER dealt with a better dfcs office !! Haley is AMAZING!! I have been involved with DeKalb county, Forsyth county, Fulton County and Gilmer County DFCS and hands down Gilmer County is blessed to have Miss Haley work for them. She is attentive kind and proactive. I can't rant and Rave enough about her. I have dealt with her quite a few times now. She answers the phone every time, get back to me via email and is super friendly in person as well. 10 out of 10

Edit: they are open at the time I am calling, according to their own automated line. No answer. If you get in touch with them, they won't do anything because they apparently don't have caseworkers there. My entire case has been mishandled and is now significantly past the deadline and there is no way to get any help with it.

If you want to actually ever get in touch with anyone, good luck. They never answer the phone. The voicemail boxes are always full for everyone you are told to contact. They completely disregard the "30 days limit" to make a decision on anything. Completely useless group of people.

I have nothing to say good about this establishment, so I will only say one thing, does it hurt to use a phone when the action that you take puts someone and their families on the street? I guess not. Y’all don’t care about people, but a paycheck. And don’t let the one star go to your head, I really want it to be half a star, or a quarter, nah no star really.

I don’t know why we even have a defacs office if no one is ever going to answer the phone or return phone calls. I’ve called several times past two days it’s ridiculous. If I could give 0 stars I most definitely would

I filled out papers for food stamps when my husband died this year. They lost my papers, plus I was told to come in and fill out more but their only open 2 days a week.

Have been trying to call for months. No one ever answers and I always have to leave a message. I cant do anything until they send my stuff to the office of where I live now which doesnt seem like I'll be getting much of anything through an answering machine. I'm pretty much living my life on their time. You guys need to get your act together.

I can’t ever reach someone on the phone, the information I need to collect is crucial to my case and the only way to collect it is through this office. I don’t live in the state so just going to the office is not an option. It’s always leav a message which I’ve now done 3 weeks straight.

I'm unaware of what has became of this office. I've been given number after number online yet, NO HELP.... This is quite ridiculous 🙄...
