This is what was supposed to be the future of convenience stores, but ultimately failed. As someone who had an interest in the space it was fun trying it out.

Signup was super simple. Took less than 5 minutes. Entering using phone or palm was also quick.

The actual store was a letdown though. Just a very small 7-Eleven style shopping area. Maybe a few hundred sku:s.

I got a few things and walked out. Simple enough. But it took a while for the cost to be charged. I guess the off-site cashiers had a lot to do… 🙂

Rude, unhelpful staff. Miserable experience picking up a package here. Completely convoluted process that requires you to have the Amazon app (in addition to the bar code) and you have to swipe your credit card just to enter the store. I thought the whole point of Amazon Go was to make things efficient and automated?

This place is really cool - no need for an employee to work this location (they are in the back, though, for assistance). You would enter through the security/non-gated barrier and then check out with using the Amazon app. Pretty much a convenience store.

I’ve done multiple amazon returns at this store and every time is worse than the last. The same guy, who works the afternoon shift, is so incredibly rude. He never says a word, just stares at me, even though I always politely great him. He literally just looks at me until I show him the barcode. It’s really strange behavior. I’ve never experienced “customer service” where the service worker straight up won’t talk until you ask a question.

He clearly hates his job. Amazon, hire someone that’s nicer.

Wow! Very cool! I tested the capabilities to the extreme. I picked up an item walked across the store, picked up another item and returned the original to it’s spot. The system processed that transaction perfectly!

Great little convenience store; had plenty of fresh meals like a chicken salad, which were handy in this location when a lot of nearby restaurants were closed over the weekend. Each time I visited the bill was correct when it arrived ~10 minutes later.

Download the Amazon Go app, scan key at terminal, grab, and go! Super easy, very fresh food to grab and go.

Very easy to enter grab and go. Parfait had mold on the strawberries. Would try again, because I understand sometimes a bad food item is luck of the draw.
